Genocide ad puts damper on Myspace session
28 year-old Mike Healey’s Myspace experience was undermined on Wednesday by a colorful, flash-animated reminder of the Darfur genocide. The ad, urging action to save 2.5 million Sudanese, took the wind out of Healey’s girl-browsing sails.
“I felt guilty,” says Mike. “Here I was cruising for a piece of ass, and I’m one click away from battling pure evil.”
Paralyzed by the surreal gestalt of the 21st century, Mike sat staring at his laptop for ten minutes, then logged on to Friendster.
